Called to Holiness, Empowered by the Resurrection

Morning: Leviticus 20-21
Evening: Matthew 28:1-20

Leviticus 20-21 presents God’s call for His people to be holy, distinct from the surrounding nations. Over and over, He reminds them, “Ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy” (Leviticus 20:26). The standards for priests were even higher, emphasizing the importance of being set apart for God’s service. Holiness was not optional—it was essential.

In Matthew 28, we see the ultimate fulfillment of God’s plan—the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The empty tomb is proof that Jesus has conquered sin and death, making a way for us to be truly holy, not through our efforts but through His victory. After rising from the dead, Jesus commissions His followers to go into all the world, making disciples and teaching them to observe all that He has commanded. Holiness is not just about being set apart; it is about being sent out to share the Good News.

God calls us to holiness, and Jesus empowers us to walk in it. We are not left to strive in our own strength—His resurrection power works in us. Holiness is not just about rules; it is about relationship. Because Jesus lives, we can walk in obedience, knowing that He is with us always, even unto the end of the world.
