The Power of Obedience and Faithfulness

Morning: 1 Kings 21–22
Evening: John 3:1–21

In 1 Kings 21–22, we encounter the dramatic story of King Ahab and Queen Jezebel’s sin of coveting Naboth’s vineyard, leading to deceit and tragedy. This reminds us that disobedience and pride can lead to destructive consequences. Yet, through the prophet Elijah and King Jehoshaphat’s alliance, God’s justice and faithfulness are revealed in the battle for Israel.

In the evening passage, John 3:1–21, we read about Nicodemus, a man of religious stature who comes seeking Jesus by night. Jesus teaches him about being born again—spiritual rebirth through faith in the Son of God. John 3:16 shines as a beacon of God’s love, emphasizing that eternal life is available to all who believe.

Together, these passages show the stark contrast between human failings and God’s invitation to new life through faith and obedience. While human pride leads to downfall, God’s grace offers redemption and hope for those who turn to Him.
